Massive Greenland ice chunk begins to break apart

A huge chunk of ice that recently broke of from Greenland is reportedly now breaking into pieces. The Manhattan-sized piece of ice – dubbed PII-2012 by officials from Nasa –broke free from the edge of Greenland’s massive Peterman Glacier in July.

Icelandic president en route to Antarctica

Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, the President of Iceland, and First Lady Dorrit Moussaieff, are currently sailing to Antarctica, according to the President’s office near Reykjavík. Al Gore, Nobel laureate and former US Vice President invited them to visit the southernmost continent on the planet.
