Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson reelected as president of Iceland

Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson reelected as president of IcelandEven though only 21% of votes have been counted it looks like Mr. Grímsson will be reelected as the president of Iceland. He will be the longest sitting president and the first to be elected the 5th term.

When this is written Mr. Grímsson has 52.3%, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir former president and the first female president in the world, got 33.8% in 1980, the lowest number of votes of any elected Icelandic President.

What stands out as numbers surface is the low attendance of those eligible to elect.
