Renowned mixed-media artists Cooper & Gorfer have been announced as the curators of the Nordic Fashion Biennale 2014 exhibition, a platform to promote West Nordic fashion designers.
Cooper & Gorfer will be curating the 3rd Nordic Fashion Biennale exhibition titled The Weather Diaries, uniting the works of many of the most talented fashion designers from the Nordic region.
Designers confirmed to exhibit include: Mundi (IS), STEiNUNN (IS), JÖR by Guðmundur Jörundsson (IS), Kría (IS), Hrafnhildur Arnadòttir a.k.a. Shoplifter (IS), Guðrun & Guðrun (FO), Barbara I Gongini (FO), Rammatik (FO), Bibi Chemnitz (GL), Najannguaq Lennert (GL), Nikolaj Kristensen, and Jessie Kleemann (GL).
The Weather Diaries will be showcasing eleven unique installations devised exclusively for the event by the aforementioned designers, alongside large-scale photographic artwork by Cooper & Gorfer.
Nordic Fashion Biennale 2014 will be taking place between 22nd March – 22nd June at the Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, Germany.
Cooper & Gorfer are two renowned American-Austrian mixed-media artists based in Sweden. Known for their strong narrative imagery with references to culture and fashion, they have been commissioned to create a photographic exhibition interpreting fashion from Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Over the past two years, Cooper & Gorfer have worked with the art and fashion community in the West Nordics.
