Malmo shooter suspected of other violent crimes

The man arrested for the shootings in Malmo earlier this year has been charged with three counts of murder and ten attempted murders. The 38 year old man was arrested last month after several random shootings occured in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city.

The ongoing investigation suspects the man of commiting three murders and ten attempted murders over the past seven years. Throughout the investigation, Swedish police have gone as far back as 2001 to investigate the man’s potential involvement in other violent crimes.

Aftonbladet reports that the police are not excluding the possibility that the man could be charged with even more crimes as the investigation proceeds.

Before the man was arrested, the turning point in the investigation was an anonymous tip which fitted the offenders profile. He was put under surveillance until enough evidence for his arrest had been gathered.

The man denies all charges against him – but the fact remains that the Malmo shootings have ciesed since his arrest.
