Police turned off by horny hotel freebies

A kinky hotel in Stockholm, which offers guests complimentary sex toys with their rooms, has been slammed by police for glorifying the sex trade. According to Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, Berns Hotel in central Stockholm has received a ticking off from authorities for providing items such as vibrators and handcuffs beside the usual hotel furnishings of coffeemakers and bedside bibles.

“The hotel is trying to glorify something that we are working to de-glorify,” said Tom Eckerling of Stockholm police to the newspaper.

The hotel claims their chic clientele have reacted positively to the naughty night time assortment and says it has no plans to remove the freebies. A spokesperson added, however, that the items are usually not provided if the rooms are to be occupied by families with children.

The hotel has agreed to remove adult film channels from their TV listings as a move alongside Ecpat to try and stamp out child prostitution. Berns Hotel reception manager Andreas L’Estrade, however, said he doesn’t expect that the toys will attract prostitution.

“There is nothing ugly with sex, that is something that we want to show,” he said told the newspaper.
