Israeli passenger plane diversion to Keflavik yesterday

keflavik airport 32342An Israeli passenger plane on its way from Tel Aviv to New York landed in Keflavik airport yesterday afternoon. There was a burning smell in the cabin of the Boeing 747 aircraft. The pilot decided to land at Keflavik airport around 15:30 (3:30pm) yesterday local time. According to MBL, there were about 400 passengers on board but there were no injuries reported.

The passengers remained on board the aircraft for about five hours until they were given hotels in Keflavik as well as Reykjavik over night. The passengers are expected to continue their journey today to New York.
