Fridrik Sophusson stepped down as director of Landsvirkjun

kort_austurland480_ferdavisirFridrik Sophusson has stepped down as the director of the National Power Company of Iceland, better known locally as Landsvirkjun. He announced that he will leave his position in autumn this year. He has been director of Landsvirkjun for nearly 10 years and was rehired last autumn.

“During these times it was a common decision amongst the staff at Landsvirkjun that it would not be a good idea to replace the director due to the unknown outlook of the national economy”, Brnydis Hlodversdottir, chairman of Landsvirkjun, told Visir news agency, “It has been a pleasure to have Fridrik part of our staff. We do not have any personal strain towards him and we are hoping to receive many applications from very qualified individuals”.
