Iceland Ventures Limited signs water rights agreement with Snaefellsbaer

Iceland Ventures Limited (IVL) recently signed an exclusive water rights agreement with the municipality of Snaefellsbaer in Iceland. IVL, who has created a local Icelandic company, IVI ehf, can now extract premium quality glacier spring water from Snaefellsjokull glacier for the next 62 years.

In partnership with the local community, the company will extract the water through the use of a new piping infrastructure, which will deliver the water to a dockside factory in the town of Rif on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. However, with in excess of 7,000,000 litres of water running off the glacier per day, there is scope for the installation of further piping to accommodate.

Snaefellsjokull glacier contains a secure, sustainable, and almost unlimited supply of pure fresh water. The water originates as ice-cap melt-water and is filtered via underground flow through post-glacial lava fields. The water is pure, sustainable, of the highest quality, and has gone through FDA and European testing.

Due to the water’s exceptional purity, the company intends to bottle and market its product within the premium category, and with strong indicators as to the expected growth in the demand for water and the scale and quality of the water source, the business is very well placed for success.
