Danish actress Jorgensen injured during filming

Renowned Danish actress Bodil Jorgensen’s condition is said to be stable after being involved in an accident during filming.

Jorgensen, who is being cared for at the Odense University Hospital, suffered the accident while filming the Danish drama Far til Fire (Father of Four). The actress was reported to have fallen off a moving tractor on Mando Island off Jutland’s west coast, and was immediately taken to the hospital in nearby Esbjerg before being transferred to Odense.

Henrik Moller-Sorenson, the chief of the movie’s producers Asa Film, said that he could only confirm that Bodil fell off the vehicle during filming on Mando, adding that he had no other information on the accident. The other actor on the tractor when the accident occurred, Kurt Ravn, was not injured.

Fifty-three-year-old Jorgensen is one of Denmark’s most popular actresses. She has been starring in films and TV series since the early 1990s, with her roles in Lars von Trier’s Idioterne, (The Idiots), De gronne slagtere (The Green Butcher) and Hvidsten Gruppen among her most renowned performances.  She picked up the country’s best actress awards in both 1999 and 2011.
