‘Last Bostonian Skating’ charity event in Boston to begin tomorrow

The ‘Last Bostonian Skating’ charity event is set to begin tomorrow, with a day of free ice skating, as well as entertainment and cuisine from Iceland.

The Icelandair sponsored ice skating event is to offer the local community a day of fun and unity, whilst raising money and awareness for two important causes – the Icelandair Special Children Travel Fund, and The Children’s Hospital Boston.

Icelandair will be offering free ice skating and skate rentals during the event in order to raise money. To help aid with contributions, gifts from Icelandair, The Blue Lagoon and Iceland’s premiere outerwear company, 66 North, will also be available for donations.

Proceeds raised will be used to support the Center for Families programming at the Children’s Hospital Boston, including supplying plane tickets for patients and their families to take a trip of a lifetime to Iceland.

Also during the charity event, some of Iceland’s up-and-coming musicians will be performing, including Mugison, Soley, Petur Ben, and Lay Low. Furthermore, the award-winning Icelandic chef Hakon Mar Orvarsson will be cooking up his world famous lamb soup for all those partaking.

The 2012 ‘Last Bostonian Skating’ event, organised in cooperation with A Taste of Iceland, offers up Icelandic music, film and culinary surprises, and much more between 1st and 4th March 2012 at Boston’s Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink.

The event will be held tomorrow at the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink in Boston, Massachusetts between 11AM and 8PM. Icelandair encourages you to bring your family and friends to enjoy this free ice skating event.
