Iceland house raid finds bomb and illegal weapons

A man has been arrested in Iceland for being in possession of a bomb and a variety of illegal weapons.

The Suðurnes police and members of the elite armed ‘Viking Squad’ unit raided a residential house in Reykjanesbær (southwest Iceland) yesterday evening following tip offs that the man living there was in possession of illegal firearms and maybe even a home-made bomb.

Ví reports that a search of the house did indeed reveal a bomb and bomb-making equipment. There was also a loaded revolver and a selection of bladed weapons.

The man was arrested and taken to a holding cell and will be interrogated today.
