All Icelandic airports open

All airports in Iceland, which have been restricted due to the volcanic eruption at Grimsvotn, have now re-opened.

The airports were opened at 18.00 local time and several flights were able to take early advantage; including more than one to London and another to New York.

Domestic flights are also allowed and will be operating unusually late into the night to make up for the backlog of passengers.

See a truly mesmerising video of the volcano taken on Saturday by Stod 2’s Jon Olafur Magnusson, here. The music is Saeglopur by Sigur Ros.
