Taxi drives into Icelandic fuel station

A taxi drove right into the N1 petrol station building on Hringbraut in Reykjavik at around 06.00 this morning, sending shattered glass flying all over the shop and onto the car.

The taxi smashed through a window several metres tall and came to a rest half inside the popular shop and fast food hall at the service station.

Two customers were inside the shop, along with members of staff, but nobody was physically hurt. The taxi driver is also unharmed, Visir.is reports.

The driver explained that the accident happened when he accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal when trying to park outside the shop.
