A Boeing 777 aircraft from the U.S. carrier United Airlines, on its way from London to San Francisco, had to make an unscheduled landing in Iceland this evening with a sick passenger. When a passenger fell ill it was decided to land at the nearest airport, which was Keflavik.
No special precautions where made because of the landing and an ambulance transported the passenger to a nearby hospital. According ISAVIA the plane is will soon take off again to San Francisco.
It is not known if the passenger will be left behind.
