The Icelandic designer, Stefan Einarsson, will today be awarded the EU Spanish Presidency Prize at a ceremony in Madrid hosted by the Queen of Spain. Einarsson will receive the prestigious award for his winning designs in the advertising campaign ‘Unleash Your Creativity Against Poverty’.
‘Unleash Your Creativity Against Poverty’ was launched on May 1st 2010 by the UN Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) in Brussels. The advertising campaign was part of the ‘We Can End Poverty’ campaign aiming to send a creative message to world leaders gathering at the UN General Assembly in New York on September 20th.
Around 2030 ‘ads against poverty’ from hundreds of participants across 34 different European countries were received. These entries were whittled down to 30 ads chosen to compete for the final prize, three of which were made by Icelandic graphic designer Stefan Einarsson. Einarsson’s three creative ads landed him 1st, 3rd and 5th place amoung thirty other finalists.
Einarsson, one of Iceland’s most awarded designers, currently works as a creative director for Iceland’s most established advertising agency, Hvita Husid. Hvita Husid, which translates as The White House, dates back to 1961 and since has gathered decades of marketing experience for many large businesses in both Iceland and abroad.

Dont fail to remember that this kind of propaganda is in the interest of the richer nations and foundations to keep exploiting as well as advancing with their agendas and make us feel like we can do something to help.
Never send or give money to any charity, “NGO” , or foundations they are just fronts.

Poverty is sad, is sad to see so many children without food. But lets be cold about it. In industrialized countries couples have a media of 1 or 2 children. They know they cannot have more if they want to secure food, school and a future for them. In the third world, specially in Africa, there is a demographic explosion going on. THEY ARE HAVING TOO MANY CHILDREN. Couples in Africa do have a media of 5 children. Many men do have 3, 4 or more women being the children born in a family around 20 or more. How can you feed 20 children with a salary when your “wifes” cannot go to work because all they do is having one children after another??
It is just so easty to blame the so called “first world” for the misery and the hunger of those people. But one thing is really true WE CANNOT BE TAKING OF THEIR PROBLEMS ENDESSLY WITHOUT THEM TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
Why should I send money to a guy who has decided to have a huge family when most of the families here are not rich and need to work hard just to pay for food of the few children they have??
When is this people going to take responsibility for their own lifes?? I´m so so tired of the usual propaganda of the III world, and the hungry black children. KAMON!! Why do they keep having children if they know they wont be able to feed them?? Those people will have to learn the lesson in a painful way.
If you come from a family were half of your brothers experienced hunger, died, or are without education, would you do the same?? Having children one after another without caring about their future?? Or would you have maximum 2 children so you could secure for them all the things they need??
The african problem starts and ends with general social responsibility of parents WHO DONT GIVE A DAMM S*IT FOR THEIR OWN CHILDREN…
