Police in Copenhagen have arrested a man who attempted to blow himself up in a busy hotel in the city. His attempt failed, and he ran from the scene bleeding with minor injuries from an unexpectedly small explosion.
The attack took place at Israel Square in the Danish capital and police found the man shortly afterwards in a nearby square where he was quickly arrested. According to Jotlandsposten, the device exploded in a hotel bathroom and appears to have gone off earlier than the man intended.
The area has been cordoned off to traffic and pedestrians and police are searching for any further explosive devices and/or evidence.
