Ragna Arnadottir, Iceland’s Minister of Justice and Human Rights, visited the notorious Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland yesterday. She was in Poland for a meeting of foreign ministers from the Community of Democracies.
The meeting in Krakow marked the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Community of Democracies and Arnadottir attended as Iceland’s representative in lieu of Minister for Foreign Affairs Ossur Skarphedinsson.
Participants in the meeting were taken on a tour of the notorious Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp as part of the gathering, which marks the tenth anniversary of the organisation’s founding at a ceremony in Warsaw, mbl.is reports.
Among the attendees was American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. All parties signed a renewed Warsaw Accord to continue the work of the Community of Democracies for human rights and against dictators and totalitarianism.
