Finland and Iceland will both compete in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo this evening. Ten of the 17 participants will go through to Saturday’s final.
The first dress rehearsal for the show took place yesterday in front of a limited crowd of journalists and VIP pass holders.
According to DV, Iceland’s entry, fronted by Hera Bjork, was enthusiastically received by the audience along with the songs from Finland, Serbia, Greece and Belgium. All 17 of tonight’s entries rehearsed on stage yesterday.
The Icelandic group has been receiving masses of attention wherever it goes in Oslo, DV reports.
The big moment comes this evening though: the semi final itself. Hera Bjork will be the last act to perform, with her song “Je Ne Sais Quoi”. Most polls and betting odds predict that Iceland and Finland will both make it to Saturday’s grand final.
