Northern Lights in IcelandIcelandic Tourist Board, Visit Iceland, is representing the Land of Fire and Ice at this year’s World Travel Market in London, between 9th and 12th November.

The World Travel Market is a must attend business-to-business exhibition staged annually in the ExCel conference centre, London. The exhibition provides a pathway for the whole global trade industry to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

With Visit Iceland participating in the World Travel Market 2009 exhibition, the exposure created will help to promote Iceland’s ever growing tourism industry – a huge boost for the country’s local economy and traditions.

A Visit Iceland spokesperson commented, “As the festive season is soon approaching, this opportunity for Iceland’s tourism couldn’t come at a better time.”

Iceland has always been an exquisite place to visit during winter; whether it be the breathtaking spectacle of the dancing Northern Lights or horse back riding in the snow covered highlands, Iceland never fails to deliver. During the Christmas period both unique and traditional festive cuisine, from hangikjot (smoked Icelandic lamb) and potatoes to Turkey and Brussels sprouts are readily available – proving Iceland to be a delicious Christmas experience.
