Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the NATO Secretary General, is in Iceland today. The visit the new NATO chief’s first official visit to an alliance member nation.
Rasmussen, the former Danish prime minister will meet today with Icelandic Prime Minister, Johanna Sigurdardottir; Ossur Skarphedinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs; Asta Ragnheidur Johannesdottir, the President of Althingi (Iceland’s parliament) and with the Althingi Foreign Affairs Committee.

Johanna is petitioning NATO to expel the UK and Netherlands if they don’t approve the Icesave amendments – and Anders has apparently drunk six cans of Víking Sterkur this afternoon and is close to agreeing.
