It is shaping up to be a record-breaking year in Norway for asylum seekers. Conflicts around the globe are forcing people to flee their own countries in search of safety and a better quality of life, and Norway is one of the more popular destinations.
The Norway Post reports that about 9,900 foreigners have arrived on Norway’s shores seeking asylum so far this year. This number represents a 45 percent increase compared to the same period in 2008, according to the latest estimates from Norway’s Immigration Directorate.
If this trend continues, 2009 will see the largest number of asylum seekers ever to descend on Norway. In 2008, 14,400 people came to Norway seeking asylum, which was nearly double the number from 2007. Norway is known to be fairly receptive to people suffering from conflict in their homelands. It has granted asylum to about 40 percent of the applications it has processed so far this year.
Of the 9,900 people who have applied for asylum so far, around 5,700 of them come from Iraq, Somalia, Eritrea or Afghanistan. Of these, 1,417 state that they are minors, the vast majority of which hail from Afghanistan.

Wake up people, the world has changed,you must adapt or change will be forced upon you some how! we live in an age of technologie where there is very little secret about the happening all around the world and thanks to technologie,even the less fortuneted villager in africa got a chance via internet or medias to know of the rset of the world and realise the jail like life of his birthplace(ignorance,poverty,compelling systems etc..).things that are harder to change than travel to places where this has been achieved already! If the west doesnt for once change its way of promoting corrupt leaders in the yhird world for they own interest,instead of genuinely helping the weak of the world to truly uplift them self to integrate into the modern world and enjoy of it marvels as much as they are paying most the price of polution,global warming,economic meltown,etc.. the west will have to put up with an on going massive immigration & i will be part of if!!! Nobody likes to live is place of birth to take chances in known hostile lands. but the colluded conspiracy of the world rulers with the corrupt third world leaders gives only two options: stay home and live as a sub-human or figth the easier figth of starting afresh in an organised state that pollute the planet,pull the ropes and gives you no share of the loot!!! my choice is clear! thiunk whatever you want!
Suggestion: Give the men guns and military support and let them fight the corrupt governments. That is the ultimate foreign aid. Eventually these asylum-seekers will re-take their own homeland.
The Russians, the French, the Americans, all had their revolutions; let the Third World have its own. It is better in the long run. Even these people who want asylum would rather stay with their families on their own land.
Yes, there will be bloodshed; rarely do we see the much-preffered “velvet revolutions” that happened in the former eastern European nations.
The Nordic countries are so famously prone to relieving their prosperity-guilt by all this “reaching out”. Cut the reaching out by half. You are not helping them in the long run; and you are setting yourselves up for a range of social problems that are inevitable when “sun people” mix with “ice people”

I telle you a story about the subject.
I have been working and living in Iceland for more than 3 years. Once, I went to a bar “Apótek” with a friend of mine. We are both foreigners. THe security guard asked us if we are “Utlandingar”, we answered in Icelandic “Yes”. He thought 2 minutes and give us permission to go in. Once in, we decided to leave because we didn´t like the way he spoke to us. We left and he asked us the reason. We explain to him that it is not a good way to speak to people. He said, as soon as you are not polish, it is fine. He added that he hates polish because they take the job of icelanders and Iceland is for icelanders.
A year later, the crisis hit Iceland. I got a job in Norway and moved from Iceland. I went to a party and met him there. He was doing a dirty job and seeking for a permanent job. I told him, you should sray in Iceland and shouldn´t take the job from norwegian. Iceland is for Icelanders….
It is right that”Western civilisation seems so strong, but no civilisation has ever lasted indefinitely. We could all be asylum seekers some day”. Persian civilisation was one of the oldest and strongest civilisation and they are actually in trouble.
Look up the definition of ‘asylum seeker’ and then say that these people fleeing war and suffering are only here to destroy Norway.
