Scandinavian music contest gets ready to roll

Planetary Group and Sonicbids have announced the deadline to enter their Spring 2008 Tour Scandinavia contest. Following the success of similar tours in other regions of the world, the contest aims to discover and promote up and coming music artists.

The tour will travel across Norway, Sweden and Finland and is open to any Sonicbid member in any musical genre. Musicians playing everything from jazz to pop and hip-hop are encouraged to enter.

The spring tour will hit Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm and promises to cover the expenses of contest winners including their airfare and accommodation.

Sonicbids is a website which matches music makers with promoters. The website boasts 130,000 musician members and 10,000 promoters across 100 countries. The website advertises performance opportunities in thousands of locations and has many events ranging from clubs and festivals to song writing competitions.

In the autumn of 2007, Sonicbids took winning members on Tour China. Groups, including previous Tour Scandinavia winners, Falcon and Malajube, performed at the Midi Music Festival in Beijing where 15,000 fans turned out for the event.

Artists who are interested in performing and touring in the Scandinavian region have until March 14th to enter.
