Iceland Music Export (IMX) will host its first stand at the world-famous Midem music event which is running in Cannes until 30th January. Over 10,000 music and technology professionals from 90 countries around the world have flocked to the global music market to do business.
IMX, a new government initiative to promote Icelandic music abroad, has a stand at the expo where over 30 Icelandic participants are registered. In collaboration with the Trade Council of Iceland, the stand has been redesigned to celebrate IMX´s first anniversary since its launch.
The Icelandic Minister of Culture will host a reception at the stand (R34.13) today at 5pm, which will include a performance by Icelandic rock & roll maverick Mugison.
Icelandic companies attending Midem this year include Sena, 12 Tónar, Smekkleysa, Zonet, Dimma, KGEM, D3 and Blánótt, Mugiboogie and Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir.
