Now the second largest event in the Icelandic calender, tens of thousands of people take part in this colourful two-day celebration in downtown Reykjavik. All kinds of people flock to the streets, including families and foreign visitors, for various parties and concerts which culminate in a large procession and open air concert with local and international performers.
