At the bank’s shareholders’ meeting in Reykjavik, five new members were also elected to the Glitnir Board of Directors as well as seven alternate members. The news of the appointment comes as Larus Welding replaces Bjarni Armannsson as CEO of Glitnir after 10 years working at the Nordic bank.

Businessman and investor, Jonsson started his career working as an economist for the Central Bank of Iceland after graduating with an MA in Economics from Northwestern University in the US.
