The operators of Keflavik International Airport have removed International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) posters encouraging tourists not to taste whale meat in Iceland. The action follows complaints from whalers. IFAW accuses the airport of censorship.

A new advertising campaign is encouraging adventurous visitors to Iceland not to taste whale meat. According to the campaign, whale is not a traditional Icelandic food, as tourists usually believe; and even a small taste does a lot of harm.

An attempt to agree on a compromise between whaling nations and their opponents has failed. The Two days of private discussion were held by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) this week but an agreement could not be reached.
