Hotel refuses to scrap women-only floor

A hotel in Denmark is refusing to remove its women-only floor despite being told by the country’s equality board that it is illegal. The Bella Sky Hotel in Copenhagen says its 17th Bella Donna floor will stay free of men despite pressure from the Equal Treatment Board to abandon the venture.

Chinese investor wants to build luxury country hotel in Iceland

A wealthy Chinese investor this week bought one of the biggest plots of land for sale in Iceland: Grimsstadir a Fjollum. He intends to build a large luxury hotel on the remote site, but approval is needed first from Icelandic and Chinese authorities.

Fosshotel has interest to replace Valholl at Thingvellir

According to Thordar Sigurdsson, chairman of the Fosshotel chain in Iceland, they have an interest in building a hotel in Thingvellir, the national park and a UNESCO site in Iceland, roughly 45km east of the capital Reykjavik.
