Tourists travelling via volcano tours to the volcanic eruption near the Eyjafjallajokull glacier last week were presented with the most powerful Northern Lights show of the past three years in Iceland.

Police in South Iceland are upset that the BBC Top Gear crew filming at the erupting Fimmvorduhals volcano appear to have tried to drive on the molten lava and caught their tyres alight. But their guides say the stunt was safe and carefully monitored.

450 People moved from the Eyjafjalla- og Myrdalsjokull eruption area to the near by town of Hvolsvollur. A kilometer long crack in the ground close to Fimmvorduhals and lava running from the west to the east. According to news the erruption seems to be fading out. Volcanic Eyjafjallajokull, in Southern Iceland, is reported to be erupting. According to the police in Selfoss, evacuation from adjacent farms has commenced. The Icelandic Meteorological Office has received reports of volcanic blaze in the glacier but no major earthquake activities
