On Wednesday, 1 July, the Icelandic Coast Guard, or locally known as Landhelgisgæslan, celebrated their anniversary. Discussions are currently underway between the Icelandic Coastguard and its Norwegian counterpart over whether Iceland’s newest patrol ship will be hired out to Norway.

The Norwegian coastguard ordered an Icelandic trawler to the Norwegian port of Hammerfest under suspicion of false data in the captain’s log, Nordlys reported. The ship was not allowed to leave the port again until a fine was paid.
