A Swedish couple has been fined by the Tax Agency for failing to give their 16-month-old son a name. The boy’s father has been forced to pay SEK 4,000 (USD 542), while the mother has been charged SEK 2,000 (USD 271) for denying their offspring the most basic of human rights.

A fraudster, who claimed to be crippled by cerebral palsy, has been sent to jail after being caught taking part in a table tennis tournament. The 32-year-old man, who claimed to be confined to a wheelchair, was sentenced to three years in prison by a Swedish court after it heard that he had conned country’s Social Insurance Agency out of millions of kroner.

A city in Sweden has built a dedicated seagull lavatory in an attempt to lure the birds away from doing their business in the marina. After cries of exasperation from the local yachting set at Marieberg bay, officials in central Sweden’s Karlstad municipality put in place a designated pontoon, which they hope the gulls will congregate, and therefore relieve themselves, on.

Christians should take a leaf out of the Torah when it comes to sex, according to a Swedish professor speaking at an annual meeting of the country’s faith groups. Professor Leif Carlsson told attendees at the Hono Conference on the west coast of Sweden that Christianity holds negative views on sex compared to those found in Judaism.

A Stockholm sports trainer has been jailed for three years for a string of sex attacks against boys. The 22-year-old man was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and child rape against one boy and one count of sexual assault against another. He was also convicted of a further 16 additional counts of sexual harassment.
