The first ever Muslim MP to be selected as a member of the British cabinet is Tooting (Borough of Wandsworth, South London) MP Sadiq Khan, a London Met University visiting professor and alumnus. Mr Khan was chosen Minister for Transport in the recent government reshuffle, making him the most senior Muslim politician in the UK and the first Muslim to join the Privy Council or attend Cabinet. Sweden’s national security service, Sapo, has issued a warning that Iranian citizens studying at Swedish universities could have ties to their nation’s nuclear and military establishments.
