On Tuesday in the Russian capital of Moscow, President Barack Obama had a meeting with a Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, offering a true partnership. Officials of the United States described the two hour talk as “very successful”. To the Russian people, especially the younger population, his speech brings lots of hope for Russia’s new future.

A group of Icelandic businessmen from five companies in Iceland traveled to Belarus to research and learn more about possible investments in the country. The trip was sponsered by the Trade Council of Iceland but also received assistance from the Business Council in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

The Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce will hold a conference this Tuesday in New York entitled ‘The Icelandic Economy and Outlook’.

So says Gylfi Zoega, University of Iceland economist, adding that the government seems to be burning bridges in its wake with regard to its relations with international financers and other nations.
