A home help boss has been fired in Denmark after a hidden camera documentary uncovered widespread negligence throughout the organisation’s workforce. Several other staff members of the Handvaerkerhaven care centre in northwest Copenhagen were also suspended after the exposé slammed workers for spending their time eating out, shopping or relaxing at home instead of looking after patients. A new television series entitled Lupaus (Promise) is to be launched by Finnish broadcaster YLE and will feature everyday Finns in a five-week pledge to give up drinking alcohol. According to the show’s resident physician, it is middle-aged females in Finland that have the most difficulty in admitting that they may have a drinking problem. Read the full story

Thor 6, the latest satellite from the Norwegian Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc), has been successfully released into orbit from its launch site at the French Guiana Spaceport of Kourou.
