An Israeli passenger plane on its way from Tel Aviv to New York landed in Keflavik airport yesterday afternoon. There was a burning smell in the cabin of the Boeing 747 aircraft. The pilot decided to land at Keflavik airport around 15:30 (3:30pm) yesterday local time. According to MBL, there were about 400 passengers on board but there were no injuries reported. Today at around 14:00 GMT a United Airlines Boeing 767 diverted to Keflavik Airport in Iceland and declared an emergency. According to sources, the airplane had smoke in the cockpit and cabin. There were 200 passengers on board the airplane. The airplane was en route from Europe to the USA. No reports of injuries have been made. Read the full story
