Greenland rejects new national currency

Speaking in the latest parliamentary session Juliane Henningsen, political spokeswoman for the Innuit Ataqatigiit Party has said that the government will introduce a proposal to clarify its position on the currency debate. Greenland becomes a self ruling nation

Greenland’s opposition scores huge political victory

In the general government election held just days before Greenland adopts greater independence from Denmark, the territory’s main opposition party won by a landslide according to the Home Rule Office. Suggesting that Greenland’s indigenous people want more say in their island’s new government, the leftist Inuit Ataqatigiit (Eskimo Brotherhood) party took 43.7 percent of the votes. Greenland lands its first native whale in 37 years


sperm-whaleIt’s been 37 years coming, but a Greenlandic bowhead whale has been hunted and caught near the town of Qeqertarsuaq, thus finally filling its special quota to catch a single whale. Greenland marks Self Rule with major trade expo
