A new website launched this week in the UK is looking set to take the movie world by storm.
Screenrush.co.uk offers visitors the chance to chat about movies, view trailers, book tickets, rent DVDs, as well as access Europe’s largest database of cast and crew information, biographies and reviews.
The website markets itself as a cross between YouTube, Odeon, Lovefilm and IMDb, and aims to be the most popular and most useful film website on the market.
The new site is operated by French media company AlloCine Group and has already attracted over half a million users during its beta testing stage.
Alexandra Ouzilleau, Managing Director of Screenrush.co.uk, commented: “Our goal with Screenrush.co.uk is to be one of the top five film sites in the UK by the end of the year – half a million users before the site has officially launched is a promising first step!
“With the added support of the cinema industry behind us, we hope to replicate the success we’ve had in France, where Allocine.fr is the number one cinema site with a 70% audience market share,” he added.
