The much-talked-about EUR 500 million from the Central Bank of Iceland to Kaupthing shortly before the latter bank collapsed did not (for the most part) go to the UK and into Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander. This is one of the findings of the High Court case in London brought by Kaupthing against the British government. The First Lady of Iceland, Dorrit Moussaieff, has been sued by her neighbour in London, Tiggy Butler. Butler, who is also an interior designer, has been pressing charges against First Lady Moussaieff because of alleged aggressive behaviour and threats made by the First Lady. Passengers on their way to ‘snowy Iceland’ got caught up in snow before taking off from London’s Stansted airport. The full aeroplane was boarded and ready to take off when the snow became too much for traffic control and all flights were cancelled. Among the passengers was a group of English College students travelling to Iceland for a long weekend. Read the full story
