Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has asked the UK High Court to block an extradition order to Sweden where he faces questioning on sexual assault allegations. His lawyer, Ban Emmerson, claims the arrest warrant is flawed as Assange has suffered a “mismatch” of Swedish and English law on what constitutes a sex crime. Read the full story

Sigurdur Einarsson, former chairman of Kaupthing Bank, and Robert Tchenguiz, who was the now-defunct bank’s biggest customer, were both arrested this morning in London in a joint operation by the Serious Fraud Office and Iceland’s Special Prosecutor into the banking crash. Read the full story

Two young women used as a “honey trap” to lure a wealthy young man into a violent robbery were yesterday sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment. They will be released immediately due to time served before and during the trial. The judge advised the “innocents abroad” to go home and get on with their lives. Read the full story
