Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has defended his government’s stance in the controversial case of 22 children from Greenland. In a statement that echoed the sentiments of his predecessor Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Lokke Rasmussen dismissed claims that the Danish state should make a public apology for a social experiment undertaken by authorities in 1951 which saw nearly two dozen of Greenland’s ‘elite’ children relocated to Denmark. Once again Norway has taken the honour of being named best country in the world to live in, heading off Australia and Iceland to win for the second consecutive year. The Norway post announced the accolade, which is based on the United Nations Development Index. The top three places remained unchanged from 2008 and the top ten featured only one change as France reappeared at number 8 at the expense of Luxembourg. Read the full story
