A group of international banks has filed a legal challenge against the Landsbanki dissolution committee claiming that they should be treated as priority claimants. If they win, only 30-35 percent of the bank’s assets will go to pay Icesave. Read the full story

The Board of Directors at Landsbanki has decided to hire Steinthor Palsson as the new Bank President. He will take over from Asmundur Stefansson at the beginning of June. Palsson says his background at Bjorgolfur Thor Bjorgolfsson’s Actavis drugs company will not interfere with his new job in any way. Read the full story

Landsbanki loaned the limited company IG ehf. ISK 26 billion in the form of a so-called bullet loan shortly after Iceland’s banking crisis began in autumn 2008. The loan was used to purchase shares in Icelandic Group and secured on the shares themselves, as reported on the Kastljos current affairs television programme. Read the full story
