Soren Gade, the Defense Minister of Denmark, has informed Parliament that Muslim women working in the Danish armed forces will not be allowed to wear their traditional headscarves anymore while on duty. It seems that Denmark will no longer be the odd man out when it comes to the issue of hijabs in the national police force. Norway had previously been progressing towards making it legal for Muslim women in their national police force to wear a hijab, or traditional headscarf, while on duty. Despite the fact that Norway recently decided to allow Muslim women working in the national police force the right to wear headscarves while on duty, Denmark has chosen to delay any action on the matter.
