Iceland’s Althingi parliament voted unanimously (63 votes for, zero against) to endorse the findings of the committee which looked into the so-called black report on the banking crisis. But the four ex-ministers recommended for prosecution by the committee were voted on individually. All MPs were present and voted. Read the full story

Bjarni Benediktsson is the new party leader of the Independence Party, with 58.1 percent of votes, and is taking over the leadership from Geir Haarde, former Prime Minister and successor to David Oddsson.
