Iceland most avid UNICEF supporter


Nearly 17,000 Icelanders are so-called World Parents with UNICEF and support the charity with a monthly direct donation from their bank accounts. Irish trio name Greenland peaks


A 700-metre peak in eastern Greenland has been named after polar explorer Tom Crean, who served with both Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton and Captain Robert Falcon Scott. The mountain was given its new title last week by a group of Irish climbers who became the first people to scale the summit. Read the full story

British girl’s balloon reaches family in Norway


A fundraising balloon, released at a village fete in the UK, has been found by a family in Norway, more than 600 miles from home.
