Huge ash production at Icelandic volcano

Iceland volcano entering new phase

For information on the May 2011 eruption at Grimsvotn, please check the IceNews homepage for regular updates) The gas cloud from South Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcanic eruption reached a height of ten kilometres yesterday evening before settling back to six kilometres. Gunnar Gudjonsson at the Icelandic Meteorological Office told Visir.is that the volcano is producing large amounts of ash again and the cloud is darker than in previous days. Read the full story

Iceland volcano still spewing ash

UK airspace still restricted because of ash from Iceland
