More vintage bubbly fished from shipwreck


Divers have started an operation to salvage dozens of bottles of vintage champagne from a shipwreck off the coast of Finland. The bubbly, which was first discovered in a sunken vessel off the semi-autonomous maritime province of the Aland Islands in July, is thought to be the oldest in the world, having sat on the seabed for more than 200 years. Tiny army of mussels could save the Baltic Sea


Tests are underway at a Finnish fish farm to see if mussels could be enlisted to help clean up the Baltic Sea. The breeding station in Kumlinge in the Aland Islands is experimenting to see how well the tasty morsels can filter nitrogen and phosphorous from sea water. Read the full story

New figures document the lives of Nordic men
