A New York court has granted the Glitnir Bank resolution committee an extension until the 10th September to provide evidence against the motion for dismissal of their case put forward by defendants.
The motion for dismissal largely rests on (the mainly Icelandic) defendants’ claim that the case should not be tried in an American court at all.
The defendants, in turn, have until the 18th October to answer Glitnir’s written questions.
Not until after this date will it be known whether or not Glitnir’s lawsuit against its previous owners will go to court in New York. Other proceedings are underway in Reykjavik and London.
