Iceland, Sweden and Denmark were among the 41 countries which chose to abstain in a United Nations vote to enshrine access to fresh drinking water as a fundamental human right for all.
122 nations voted for the motion, 41 abstained and none voted against.
Australia, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and the UK were among other abstentions, while Norway and Finalnd supported the vote.
According to Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Iceland fully supports the notion of access to fresh water as the right of everybody on Earth – but Iceland apparently chose to abstain because it believes the ruling stood to undermine a water rights agreement the UN Human Rights Council is currently preparing, RUV reports.

You already do, unless the people in your cold water supply industry work for free or unless Icelanders drawn their own from wells that they’ve dug themselves.

A “right” to anything means that it must be provided on demand. Governments are broke and only have the public commons left to mortgage away. How convenient that globalist private corporations are all too ready to jump in and do that! After the right for clean water is established, what’s to prevent a right to breathable air? The fascist corporations will provide air and water on demand AND they will charge fees to governments whose citizens pollute THEIR air and water! Bet nobody thought of that, eh?
It’s all a thinly veiled push to privatize the commons, whether they are national or global commons. Privatization of commons is THE crossing of the Rubicon which will destroy nation-states. All of which western man fought, struggled, and died for since the Magna Carta and the Peace of Westphalia will be gone in the stroke of a pen.
The very core of a nation-state is the exclusive reservation of all commons within borders for the use and benefit of the citizens inside. Those commons are the rightful property and inheritance of a legacy racial group, defining the human and civic nature of their nation-state. Racial and ethnic groups are senior forms of nationhood. By design, most western nations are hopelessly Balkanized now, which destroyed any sense of who is a German, Italian, American, British, etc.
All that is left is the commons, held in trust for the citizens by the government. Privatize the commons and all mankind will be thrust into the borderless New World Order, where ALL of us (except the elites) will be graded according to one’s economic value and global ID. Our right to access the commons of land, air, and water will be based on our individual cost-benefit ratio to the global financial system. If you cost too much to the system, for any reason whatsoever, you will either become slave labor or exterminated. Billions will die because they lost the right to breathe private air and drink private water. Billions will die for the Bottom Line.
Nothing short of armed insurrection and physical vandalism of all forms of privatization of the commons will stop this trend. By design, nothing will happen because we are largely castrated. We have been well-trained to answer tyranny with blogs, talk shows, impotent griping, and fear.
The Tree of Tyranny cannot be pruned, leaf by leaf, carefully removing each leaf in the order in which it grew. The Tree of Tyranny must be chopped down in FURY! With millions of hands on the axe handle, swinging in unison at the trunk and roots.
I forgot to answer the question, “What should we pay for water?”
The answer is whatever is actually costs to deliver it to the tap. If it is a public utility, then the cost is for the public employees to maintain the system, electric power for pumps and purification, repair parts, and overhead expenses in support of a water works. Without parasitic oligarchs and financial scams to feed, clean water is not expensive to deliver. Water at the source is free AS LONG AS IT HASN’T BEEN MORTGAGED TO CRIMINAL BANKERS!
As I mentioned before, water becomes expensive when it is carrying the costs of external activities and internal malfeasance.
Never, Never, NEVER privatize water! It belongs to the people and we should only pay for the infrastructure and employees to bring to us. Public water isn’t expensive. Furthermore, any government that tries to keep people from collecting rain, that falls free from the sky, needs to be overthrown by ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
