The assets of former Glitnir bosses frozen by the Reykjavik District Commissioner amount to nearly a billion kronur (USD 7.9 million) and look set to include the former bank director’s house.
Visir.is reported this week that Palmi Jonsson, closely tied to a company called Fons, had paid the Glitnir Bank resolution committee around half a billion kronur in order not to have all his assets frozen. The asset he particularly wanted to keep away from confiscation was the airline Iceland Express.
The bank is claiming ISK six billion from Palmi Jonsson, Jon Asgeir Johannesson and Larus Welding. ISK 200 million of Jon Asgeir’s assets have been frozen in Iceland and the District Commissioner of Reykjavik is working on a request to freeze the transfer of assets connected to Welding’s luxury house.
