The new operators of the Eden tropical greenhouse centre in Hveragerdi, South Iceland want to import three monkeys from Germany to complete the jungle feel. The Hveragerdi municipal government has been asked to support the request to national authorities.
A Hveragerdi council meeting on Thursday responded positively to the proposal.
The council minutes say that many more tourists used to visit the town a few years ago when there were monkeys and a talking crow there and Eden was nationally famous, RUV reports.
