A team from the world famous American current affairs programme, 60 Minutes is currently in Iceland.
The respected journalist Scott Pelley is with the team creating a film about the Eyjafjallajokull volcanic eruption. The team has been in Iceland since the middle of last week, according to Visir.is.
The crew expected to take a helicopter flight around the volcano yesterday to provide footage for the video which is due to be screened in the autumn. It was eventually decided to go by car instead, probably due to cloud cover.
They are the first people to drive up the Eyjafjallajokull glacier since the eruption began and other 4×4 enthusiasts are hoping they too will get the chance.

They stayed with us for a week here at Hotel Ranga. Very nice people and highly prodessional. I hope the ash part of this powerful volcano is over and that we soon only can enjoy its unique beauty. It would also be interesting to elaborate on Evillusions comments above – but – is this not a forum in English? Peace…
60 Minutes crew visits Iceland volcano. Great news and for international viewers. Hope for better air space preparedness from planes, pilots, staffs and all other relevant services in future volcanic eruptions. The need is urgents as volcanic eruptions is often unpredictable and economic loses was too much. Iceland maybe small but the effect was great.
Just hoping for good.
